I just finished reading GROWING UP BAREFOOT IN THE SOUTH and have to admit that I couldn't put it down. It was such an interesting walk with the author, Barbara Deming, filled with nostalgia, taking me back to a different time and place. After reading each chapter, I couldn't wait to move on to the next to find out more about this author's experiences, written with a subtle sense of humor. A great book no matter where you grew up!
